GALLERY OF CATS:

PLEASE CAN YOU GIVE US A CHANCE OF A PERMANENT HOME?

Sometimes when we lose a much loved pet (see Rainbow Bridge) we say 'right that's it I can't go through that again', however,  we feel that if you can offer a home to another little one it helps with the healing process, helps the little one you are about to adopt and also makes a place for another that is NOW waiting to come in and having a bad time e.g.   2 cats owner has been sent to prison and are living in a friends shed until we can bring them in. If you can take another cat in  maybe just maybe you did not lose your much loved pet in vain.

When you first meet the cats please consider they have  been taken from what its known, and may no longer feels safe and secure,  (although many may not realize it, are for the first time in their life) it could be upset by the nearness of other cats, so  isn't  necessarily going to behave as it does once settled into your own home. Please, don't judge by what you see, yes by all means follow your instinct, but most importantly listen to our fosterers advice, they have handled hundreds of cats over the years, and know what they are talking about. Although we  cannot of course guarantee how a cat will settle, or whether or not it likes children or dogs (although most fosterers do have dogs and will have an idea), as we cannot allow them free roam in order to answer these questions.  cats of any age usually adapt remarkably quickly to their new situation  So just because a cat doesn't come to you, please don't rule it out ! A stressed cat can show signs of aggression, but this doesn't mean it will be aggressive towards you once it knows you

It seems that at present we have quite a few "challenging cats" to re-home. Inevitably, some are harder to re-home than others, but all are equally deserving of a new loving home. Those that have had a bad start in life can be wary of human contact which is understandable. However when shown human kindness many respond and become loving and giving.

Below are a few of our cats (some 'normal', some special needs) that are looking for a purrfect home, all our cats have been micro-chipped and injected against Cat flu and enteritis,  those cats that are to be indoor/outdoor cats against Leukaemia too.

So many people say I want a kitten or a young cat because I want it to live a long time, sadly kittens and young cats we homed not too long ago have now died, yet a 12 year old cat I homed 9 years ago is still alive a well. Did you  know the oldest cat Cats Protection took in  was 32 (yes that is correct  32  I have not got the figures the wrong way round)? Please give a thought to the older cats, cats that have been neglected or abused and the cats that have lost their owners in sad circumstances, apart from the latter all the other cats now know, possibly for the first time in their lives what it is like to be loved.

GOLDEN OLDIES 12+ although that may only be middle aged.

Spring may have left their step, but in their hearts its always Summer. An old cat fits you like a second skin, they have the experience to read your thoughts and know exactly when to turn on that good old fashioned charm and when to play like a kitten, they can tell when you need a hot water bottle just as they know when you need a pick me up cuddle. They sit quietly listening to all your problems in such a reassuring way and happily catch up on beauty sleep in your absence.
Beware -Whether you are lucky enough to have an old cat for as little as a month or a few years the love and happiness they give will leave a huge crater in your heart when they depart.
Yet from the Rainbow bridge you can almost hear them say there's so many others out there just like me
.

Oscar
Oscar is a male tabby approx 15 yrs old and a delight, he is affectionate and loves lots of fuss. He came into care after he had been living in a garden for about a year. (If only people would contact us when they have a cat they think is a stray, instead of ring us when they have had enough.) I think he deserves the chance of a loving quiet family where he will reward you with love for your kindness.

Jasper
Jasper is a 2-3 year old ginger tabby. Came into us as a stray - only wish he could tell us were he has come from because he is such an affectionate fella & very laid back. Loves fuss & attention & we believe he would be a great addition for any one lucky enough to adopt him.

Mollie & Milly
Mollie is 3 years old  & Milly is her 2 year old daughter. Mollie is very loveable and enjoys a fuss , Millie is a little more independent. They are fully house trained and are looking for a new home as their owners are reluctantly having to give them up due to health problems. (Human health problems not the cats). They are looking for a quiet home together.

Ellie
Ellie is an adorable 6 week old kitten who can be viewed but will not be homed until she is 8 weeks old.

Sophie
Sophie is a little darling once she knows you, but needs to be the only pet as she is scared of other pets.
Mario & Buddy are 1 year old and much loved and wanted by their owners however, they are moving to accommodation where pets are not allowed. So they are looking for a new home where they can continue to be loved and valued.
Pic to follow Betty Boo is 2-3 years old and is looking for a quiet home where she can receive the love and attention which sadly has been lacking in her life for some time.

Oscar
Oscar is 10 yrs old, he was homed by us 7 years ago but has needed to come back into care due to his owners change of circumstances. Oscar is looking for a permanent indoor home.

Jack
Waiting to come into care when we have a home but available now is Jack age 2 is a  black boy, sadly left outside by his owner when she decided to take in another cat that was hanging around and hated Jack. The owner now does not want Jack who is a delight once he knows you and loves nothing more than roll around plying for attention and love but needs a quiet household where  there are no other animals where he can learn to build up his confidence and also a home with a cat safe garden.

Rudy
Rudy is about 10yrs old and is a lovely boy and will be loving when he wants to be (a bit like some humans really). A home with no small children and no other pets would be ideal.
